Manchester, 2011. Lawyer Emily Fowler and her daughter Lily are re-building their lives following the conviction of Emilys husband for attempting to murder her. But as a result of fighting back and almost killing him, Emily faces an escalating hate campaign from an extreme mens rights group Backlash.Determined to expose those leading the campaign, Emily joins forces with her solicitor, Julie, to gather evidence about the far-fight conspiracy behind Backlash. Facing increasing danger, as well as unwanted attention from the security services, Emily and Julie confront a stark choice; to see this through together, or split up and risk failure.
